Sunlit forest path — representing a career journey with purpose

Our Story

About Us

Who We Are

Where We Come From & Why We Do This

JParker Communications was born from a simple but powerful belief: every student and young professional deserves a guide — someone who has walked the halls of academia, navigated corporate boardrooms, and built businesses from the ground up.

Judy Parker's journey began over 26 years ago as President of Devlin Design Group, an award-winning global studio set design business. There, she created an internship program that changed the trajectory of dozens of young careers. That experience ignited a passion she couldn't ignore.

From 2002 to 2022, Judy served as a Marketing Lecturer at the University of San Diego, where she taught thousands of students not just marketing theory, but the art of building a career with intention. She also lectured at UCSD and consulted for its Career Services.

Judy currently serves as VP of Collegiate Relations for the American Marketing Association San Diego Chapter (2023–Present), where she bridges the gap between student marketers and the professional community.

Today, Judy holds a Doctorate in Education, Organizational Change and Leadership from USC, an MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management (ASU), and a BA in Communications from USC. She brings every credential, every lesson, and every hard-won insight directly to her clients.

"I've watched students go from uncertain and overwhelmed to confident leaders, entrepreneurs, and executives. That transformation — that's why I do this."

Testimonials

What Colleagues & Students Say

In the 28 years that I have worked with Dr. Parker — during my time on Legoland's marketing team, while she served as Vice President of Marketing at Optimum Health, and through projects at JParker Communications — I have consistently been impressed by her enthusiasm, her ability to initiate projects and see them through to successful completion, and her exceptional communication skills.

What has always stood out to me most is Dr. Parker's ability to focus, organize priorities, and see every project through to completion. That has been Dr. Parker's consistent superpower throughout her career.

Whether securing promotional partnerships for a new company, helping management teams establish strategic priorities, or informing, motivating, and guiding the next generation of leaders, Dr. Parker brings dedication, organization, and excellence to every endeavor.

Judy has always cared about her students and always strived to make the material as engaging as possible. The course textbook had changed and there were concepts Judy felt were missing or could be explained in a more effective manner, so she would supplement the text with additional material. I appreciate the time she spent to create a strong course rather than solely relying on the materials the marketing department selected.

Feedback on presentations were thoughtful and her notes helped me to see the deliverable from a different perspective.

I have known Judy for at least 15 years and I admire her for always wanting to help her students be successful.
